An Exempt Position is a position which satisfies the Fair Labor Standards Act definition and are paid a salaried rate. An employee in an exempt position is expected to work the hours necessary to fulfill their duties. The expectation is a minimum of 40 hours per week. Exempt positions are not entitled to overtime compensation.
